I make no attempts to hide the fact that I’m an animal lover. That is to say that I love animals, not that I make love with animals, because that’d just be wrong, and people who make love with animals should be locked up. I digress though, today Pornhub and PETA announced a new charity initiative titled ‘Too Much Sex Can be a Bad Thing’, and for every 2,000 views on Pornhub they will be donating money to PETA in order to help cats and dogs get spayed and neutered.
They even put together a video with adult film star Riley Reid to announce the launch of the campaign, and unlike most of Riley Reid’s video’s this one is actually safe for work (it’s on YouTube so you know you’re safe):

NEW YORK, N.Y. (July 7, 2016) – Today, Pornhub, the premier online destination for adult entertainment, announced their participation in PETA’s “Too Much Sex Can be a Bad Thing” campaign through the brand’s philanthropic division, Pornhub Cares’. Launching on July 7, the company’s latest endeavor will be a month-long fundraising campaign dedicated to raising awareness of, and stimulating meaningful conversation around, the importance of spaying and neutering animals to decrease overpopulation.
As part of the campaign, Pornhub will donate one cent for every 2000 video viewed on the site resulting in roughly $30,000, to the mobile spaying and neutering clinics of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the largest animal rights organization in the world.
Founded in 1980, PETA is dedicated to establishing and defending the rights of all animals, operating under the simple principal that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. With more than 5 million members and supporters, the organization works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns.
“Too much sex is a bad thing when it leads to the births of millions of dogs and cats who end up in animal shelters every year, with no hope of adoption,” says PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch. “Pornhub’s generous support will help spread PETA’s message that the best way to stop the homeless-animal overpopulation crisis is prevention through spaying and neutering.”
While a healthy sex life can be great for humans, the sex drives of unaltered dogs and cats have created a massive overpopulation crisis. Each year, more than 3 million cats and 4 million dogs enter animal shelters in the U.S. This campaign is to help ensure that no more puppies or kittens are born into a world already overflowing with unwanted animals. Altered animals are less likely to contract deadly, contagious diseases including feline AIDS and feline leukemia, which are spread through bodily fluids.
“We never thought we would say this, but our partnership with PETA has taught us that too much sex can in fact be a bad thing. Here at Pornhub, we understand the importance of curtailing sexual behavior to prevent potential abuse and/or spreading of deadly diseases in the animal community,” said Corey Price, VP, Pornhub. “We are asking our viewers to lend us a hand – literally – to help PETA’s efforts to raise awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering man’s other best friend.
