Those covers propelled her prolific career where she appeared on over 500 magazine covers, plus her iconic role as the hot Ferarri girl in the 1983 movie National Lampoon’s Vacation.

Now 38 years after her first appearance in SI, the captivating Christie Brinkley is back in the swimsuit issue. The 63-year-old beauty is joined by her two daughters Alexa Ray Joel, 31, and Sailor Brinkley Cook, 18, for the photoshoot which was done in the outrageously picturesque Turks & Caicos.

And I gotta say, you wouldn’t be wrong to say that mom is the hottest of the trio.

“My first thought was, ‘At my age? No way!’” she tells PEOPLE magazine. “When I turned 30, I was like, ‘This is the last time I’m posing in a bathing suit!’ When this issue comes out, I’ll be 63. I thought, ‘Those days are over.’ But to get to do it with my girls, I thought, ‘One last go!’”

Sailor, Brinkley’s younger daughter with ex-husband Peter Cook, has already started a modeling career and called the SI photoshoot “very empowering and liberating.”

Alexa, who arguably got a little too much genetics from her dad Billy Joel, said she was apprehensive about the photoshoot and “needed to be talked into embracing new experiences.”
